I am going today to complete my first mystery shop. I am going to go this afternoon when my husband gets home so that he can stay with the kids while i go. They are paying me $8.00 to spend 15 minutes in a store and evaluate it. That doesnt sound too bad to me. Are there any mystery shoppers here?

I am not a mystery shopper but have seen a few websites about it. I am very interested to see if it pays well. I have not joined any so far because they want you to pay them to get started. I am very leery about spending money to make money, especially when they charge $49 to get started. How many times have your been a secrete shopper, are there lots of opportunities in your area? Lets us know how well you do, I would like to do this because I do have the free time, but afraid that there may not be enough jobs to make it worth it.

Thank-you so much for the best response. With all the hustle and bustle around here the past couple of months, I did not get a chance to check out those 2 sites. I will be doing that this week and hopefully they have a few things in my area. It is free so it is worth it. I will let them know you referred me there. Thanks again.

i have thought about it but for me, because of my arthritis, it is hard for me to get around these days so maybe after i have my knees replaced i will think about doing something like this. do you get to buy stuff? do they pay for it? sometimes the company will do that too!

It depends on the shop. Sometimes you have to buy stuff and return it or sometimes you get to buy stuff and they will reimburse you a certain amount.

Good luck with your first mystery shop. I have never done anything like that before although I have looked into it before. What company are you working for?
