The doorbell rang earlier today and standing on my doorstep was my postman holding a parcel for me. I was all excited because I am waiting for various things to arrive in the post for Christmas gifts for people. Eagerly I opened it and aww cor bloomin' blimey it was a Christmas gift... for me!!! My poor sister-in-law has had to be super efficient and organised as she was expecting a baby (she has had him now in case there was anyone who didn't know). I don't think I have ever received a Christmas present this early before!
What is the earliest you have ever received a Christmas gift?

Wow Humbug, That really is an early Christmas Gift, no opening it until the day though and no peeking. I have only ever received Christmas Gifts on or just before Christmas Day never in Novemeber LOL. I have received some late before now as not seeing the people until the New Year but never hat early. That must have been a really lovely suprise in the post. I love receiving them, unfortunately my post is not too reliable I know of two parcels that have been sent and I have never received, it makes me wonder how many more I don't receive. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ya ellie333
I know November is really early and it is a first for me. I actually knew it was coming but didn't expect it to arrive this early!! I hear what you are saying about your mail, Royal Mail sure have got a lot to answer for! My mum once sent a gift for my son's birthday, she took it into the post office, had it weighed and paid the price. A week after his birthday it still hadn't turned up until shortly after that I got a letter saying that I had to go down and pick up a parcel from the sorting office as not enough postage had been paid on it. Thinking it was only going to be a couple of pence I went down there. Well it was £5 plus £1 handling charge. My mum had already paid £4 odd to post it in the first place. I had no clue what had happened but the PO weren't going to take any responsibility for it and between me and my mum we had paid more than the value of the gift!
Thanks for your response

Lucky you! The earliest I get my christmas present is on 24th December. We have the custom of gathering at my parents or inlaws for christmas eve or christmas lunch where we exchange gifts together. So we are not allowed to open our gifts before that date.

Hi there ronaldinu
I think that is great and how it should be really but what with family being far from each other so much these days all you can do is post them. I usually hide all the gifts in my bedroom until about a week prior to Christmas day and then put the gifts around the tree.
Thanks for your response

Well that certainly is super efficient! I hope you didn't open the present, I gather it was wrapped in Christmas paper inside? No peeping otherwise I will tell Santa that you have been a bad girl and you won't get any presents! I don't think I've ever got a Christmas present in November and would blanch at the thought! I know it's exceptional circumstances for you and your sister-in-law! I usually start getting presents the second week in December the very very earliest.
