I know how you feel i think that all you can do is keep the animals in and reassure them.
I had that problem with my dog he is an outdoor dog and loves being outside.
On Saturday my neighbours held a fireworks party but did not inform us that they were going to so my poor dog was going mad. He usually is not bothered about fireworks but it was different this time as they were next door.
My partner brought him inside and let him sit with him to keep him calm as the fireworks went on till about midnight. These seemed to work with him.
My 2 cats don't react at all to fireworks so i have no problem with them.

We don't really have any fireworks nearby. I mean, there are some, but we don't bring the dog. If they are doing it next door, the dog barks at it, but I don't think it will hurt his ears. Maybe you should keep them home, are there fireworks close to you? Or you can have them stay at someone else's house.
