HOW TO USE DENTAL FLOSS AROUND THE HOUSE Step 1 Remove a ring that's hopelessly stuck on a finger. Wrap the finger tightly from the edge of the ring to the fingernail with a length of dental floss. Slide the ring over the "carpet" of dental floss, then unwind the dental floss. Step 2 Sew on buttons with dental floss. Secure button longer on heavier garments such as jackets, coats and wool shirts. Step 3 Slice cakes with a long piece of dental floss. Hold a length of dental floss taught between the index finger of each hand and push the floss straight down through the cake. Do the same for blocks of cheese and for cheesecake. Step 4 Hang just about anything with durable, strong dental floss. Secure sun catchers, wind chimes or picture frames. Use a needle and dental floss to string together and hang a row of paper artwork. Step 5 Separate photos that are stuck together. Work a length of dental floss between them to gently loosen and pry them apart. Step 6 Lift stuck cookies off the baking sheet. Hold a piece of dental floss taut and slide it carefully under the cookie while it is still a bit warm. Lift the unstuck cookie from the baking sheet with a spatula.

Oh gosh Pat that's really interesting stuff. I really like the button thing. It would be great for jeans. My sons were forever loosing those and a regular button always comes off. Too bad I didn't know about dental floss back in the day. Great post

Thanks. I love these tips. I've actually used the dental floss to cut cakes. It works wonderfully with cheese cake and even slicing through just made fudge.
