I am not here for a popularity contest. However, I think it is childish and immature that when people disagree with someone on Mylot, they go out of their way to be nasty and press the minus button or exclamation button just so they can take the person's star down further and further. It is not the star itself, but the act of trying do whatever can be done to tear people down. I rarely ever click on either of those buttons even if someone is incredibly nasty. If you cannot agree to disagree in a respectful manner...if you cannot help yourself and must click on those buttons because it gives you such satisfaction, don't answer my discussions. This is a warning, if you get nasty with me, I will press those buttons freely :)

Indeed it is inappropriate to just rate you with a negative rating if you disagree with someone's opinion. Let's remember that there's a lot of ideas everywhere and if your idea works perfectly fine with you yet it doesn't mean that it will workout with others as well. It is frustrating to think that this is happening and there are people out there who is like that but there's nothing that we can do about it. Since the start, I haven't use the negative rating yet and I don't think I would be using it in the future either.

I will use the negative rating if I have to. I know of perfectly nice people on here who have star ratings of 2. They don't deserve it. People go to our discussions just to argue and rate us down. I never go to the discussions of people like that. I choose discussions of people I have something in common with, not to argue. I know some of the people that have very low ratings when I first met them on here, because of the low rating, I thought they must be hard to get along with, and that is not true at all. This rating system give people the wrong idea about other and give the wrong people power.

That is what I noticed as well, it doesn't live to what it suppose to serve and that's the reason also why I don't care about the star anymore considering that it can be easily manipulated. So I don't care anymore about it and receiving best response is what keeps me going and moving and to do more but not the star anymore. I have never been affected with the drop of my star since then.
