The battle was won a short time ago. HD vs Blu Ray. As you know by now, blu-ray won. Now they offer dics in both Blu Ray and dvd. We have a dvd player. With no plans in the works to purchase a Blu ray as yet. How long until they only offer blu Ray discs? Or that you purchase the player.

I do not tend to rush out and buy the new tech gadgets, but sooner or later we will have to upgrade our DVD player. Not for several years, I should think.

Well, I have a normal DVD player. I haven't had any plans to purchase a Blu Ray Disc As of yet. I guess when they get cheaper maybe until then I keep what I have it works fine and why spend money for something that I use only a few times a month. I doubt they will stop making regular DVD's or VHS's as long as people will buy them.

We just have the regular DVD player also. I don't think we will ever switch to the BluRay either.

Hubby wants to buy a Blu Ray player, but luckily he can get one rather cheap through work. I just don't see any sense in it just yet, because the blu ray discs are harder to come by. Not only are they more expensive, they're just not as popular yet.
I think we'll probably switch over to blu ray once the DVD sections in the stores carry more blu ray than regular DVD's. Once the regular DVD's are harder to come by, or certain companies just stop making them all together, that will be the time everyone will NEED to have a blu ray player.
