Do you believe in predestination ?

Do you believe your life and circumstances are preordered and there is nothing you can do about it?.This means that your life is already written out to "t" and all that will happen now is you will act according to the script .This means that the day you marry ,who you marry ,your children, your children names and your death are already designed .If this is the case it would seem to me that you have very little flexibility and you should basically sit back and let nature takes its course.Based on these beliefs I have a few questions : can you change your fate ?,should you put effort into anything you do since it will happen anyway and who determines what your fate will be .
I must say I dont believe in predestination but maybe that is because I dont know enough about it ,so if you could please enlighten me.

This is a good question and difficult to answer. Sometimes I think that life is predetermined for each of us and it is set forth since birth. However I think that there are some things that happen in life for a reason and it can change the direction or the course of which we travel on.
I do believe in the Lord and that he does determine when and how things will happen. It is just ourselves that need to follow things out and make the right decisions.
