I watched a tv show this morning and it featured 3 boys from England and are performoig on stage as ballet dancers and singers (I think). The boys are about 10-12 years old.
I heard one of the boys saying his mom signed him up for ballet lessons when he was 5 years old.
I know it is common among parents to send their children to ballet and gymnastics classes but most commonly are girls only.
If you have a 5 yr old boy, will you send him to a dance school and not to a basketball or softball game or karate classes?
why? Why not?

I have watched ballets before and I have seen guys do it. I dont think it would make it any less for your son if he enroll in ballet class. Others may laugh at him coz it's not really a masculine thing. but who cares, right? Just make sure your son loves to join the ballet.

Yeah I've seen guys in a ballet performance too. Well you're right , just make sure the child loves to do it.

I would not send my son to ballet, unless he wanted to. I would attempt to discourage it though. We live in a society that looks upon boys in ballet as being "light in the loafers" Children have enough bullying and hard times in school without bringing on the torment.
Not to mention my own personal preference, I would much rather see my son hit a home run and my daughter dance than the other way around.

That's what i was thinking. . Kids got a lot of bullying what more if their classmates or friends found out that he is in a balet class.
But yeah. If the child wants to do it why not. But if I have child like that , I would discuorage it too.

If my boys were interested in dance, I would sign them up, but so far, none of them have been interested.
