This is normally my day off but I am going to be training for a different, full time position within my regular employment. I will be on a little bit this evening. Wish me luck. I will eventually, like after Thanksgiving sometime, be working 8-4 Monday thru Friday. Soon as they can get someone to work evenings that does everything I do. Tjey are spoiled.

Good luck in your new position. They may have been spoiled but it seems it paid off for you as they must have recognised the good work you have done or they would not have offered you the promotion.

It is more of a challenge, not real sure that it is a promotion, but it is the hours I really wanted. Hubby and I do feel like I am moving into working with these two clients for a reason, and that this is where I belong right now. I will be able to use the skill I have with sign language with one client, and the medical experience I have will be essential with the other.

goodluck gardengerty. How are you doing four weeks after that you got your first training? I hope that you are doing great. Earning a stable salary is much more lucrative than earning a few cents online I gues. Take care. © ronaldinu 2008

I will be back here more, after Christmas. I did put in for another change, as well, but I have not heard about it. I do not think I put that in a discussion, though.

I hope this is a change you are looking forward to. I am looking for a new job myself. I am hoping to find one very soon. So where do you work? What kind of a job do you do?

I work with the adult disabled. Mostly in a residential setting. If the change goes through the way they are saying I will also work one day a week at Day Services. Our agency is really cool, as far as that type of agency goes. They have taught the clients how to roll clay and make decorative plaques. We have stores that sell the plaques and the clients get the profit. Each plaque comes with a picture of the client who made it. They also make some clay jewelry.

Congrats on your new position! I do wish you THE best of luck, for sure :-) I think they'll be hard pressed to find somebody to replace you that's as giving and as good an employee as you've been to them (they'll probably need 2 to take your place lol) Hopefully you'll still have time to come and chat with us all here on myLot, we'd surely miss you if you were missing in action for too long !!!!

MyLot is my addiction. I will still be working less than I did for the last three years. We are transitioning, I just started with this young man today because there just is not enough staff in his program and he needs 24/7 supervision.

I do notice you missing. Things are better than the one new position. I got a promotion, and am back in my other program, but as a supervisor.

Hey GardenGerty! Hope all has gone well with your training session. It's always nice to stay with the same company and get additional training when necessary. Much better than starting over with a new employer. My new job has me on the night shift, which is fine with me, but out of curiosity, which do you prefer? Have you switched yet?

For awhile I worked both the full time day and the part time evening. I do not mind either one, as long as I am home by midnight. It is working both that is the pits. I am now waiting to hear if I get a promotion to a more supervisory position. More pay, still days, more responsibility, in some ways.

I never have known just what it is that you do for work. I have never worked full time and have no idea how I would have ever done it!! I'm glad to have quit my part time job. Although I am really worried about the little bit of money that I make online and trying to make it, I know the Lord is with me and will show me the way to make it. Marsha

Any time you are still responsible for small children, it is difficult to work full time. I work with adults with disabilities. Some are autistic, some have Down syndrome, some are schizoaffective disordered, etc. I provide residential staff support, so they live in their own homes.

Have a good time at your new job. It is always exciting to start a new job, and of course it is a bit scarry too. I hope you still find time to mylot since you are one of the few people who regularly come and visit my discussions. I wish you all the best at the new position.

At this point they have only added the two full day shifts, and I still have my night and weekend hours that I have.I could deal with this. My girls, or should I say ladies are pretty dependent, and I have worked with them almost two years.
