First female four-star general is cause for celebration. Gen. Ann E. Dunwoody becomes first sister to join special band of brothers. Women make up only about 14 percent of the active duty force. I think this is terific. How do you feel about woman generals?

I read about this yesterday, and watched the coverage of the ceremony when they pinned her stars on her shoulders. She looked so proud and so happy it made me feel wonderful. I actually wrote about this on my blog yesterday morning. Like most women in her position - trailblazers in typically male professions - she doesn't think of herself as a trailblazer. She just does her job to the best of her ability - and is apparently very good at it. I think it's marvelous that women are being recognized for their abilities and their contributions, and hope that it's a trend that continues.

I think it is about time that a female has received such a title.

I think it is a great idea. Some people would disagree and I try to respect another person's point of view. However, if a woman is capable, then I don't see why her gender should matter. Good for her.
