Sooo I was checkin world news as I usually do everyday and I found this..This happened in Canada..and i was just in Awwwe when i read it..apparently in TORONTO (Nov. 13) An obese inmate who goes by the nickname "Big Mike" has been granted early parole because a Canadian prison could not accommodate his 430-pound frame. Michel Lapointe, 37, was released from prison earlier this week after serving 25 months in Montreal's Bordeaux Jail for conspiracy, drug trafficking and gangsterism. The Quebec Parole Board said this week that it based its decision for an early release on Lapointe's health, along with factors such as good behavior and the support of his wife and mother. The two-officer board stressed that Lapointe was not violent and did not pose a risk to society. Lapointe will have to follow a series of conditions, such as finding a job and staying away from bars. He will also have to meet with a parole officer on a regular basis over the next three months..A former chef, Lapointe was arrested on drug-related charges in 2006. In February 2008, he pleaded guilty to all of his charges. At the time of his arrest, Lapointe weighed 375 pounds. Defense lawyer Clemente Monterosso said the prison's poor diet caused his client to gain more than 50 pounds.Andddd...Convicts' weight has also been an issue in the United States. In one case, a 500-pound New York man accused of selling knockoff guitars was arraigned in a pickup truck in a parking lot because he could not fit into the courthouse. Soo here are my thoughts..Even though im in the USA..It has started in Canada abd will soon end up here at soem point of time if it hasnt already.soo this is what is goin to happen. I see in the future alott of obese people and people to turn obese when they break the law just to end up getting a out of jail free card..I think this was rediculous..If u break teh law everyone must pay..and if weight is an issue..then mayeb its time for more diet for them in jail..or if teh yhave health probs get the the help they need while in..I dunno I was just really bothered by this..what are your thoughts??

I live here in Montreal and I never heard this story wow, The US doesn't follow our system of government though, so I would not worry about that happening in the usa, look we have gay marriages, and legal abortions for years and you guys don't have that across the board yet and maybe never will

Saviour-V teleports in... It could be worse. Why, the thinner crooks would probably use the fat ones as wrecking balls to rob banks with...^_^;; Not that I have any prejudices about fat people. In fact, my own weight's about 115 kg - not really healthy, if you ask me. But I suppose that if you really want to punish fat crooks, why not have them roll on their sides for a certain period of time? On a more serious note, if prison food is really that bad, I don't think I'd ever want to be in one. Sure, there's free food, but if it's not good food, then I think that would be the worst thing next to a prison sentence. Just saying. Saviour-V grins, and teleports out...
