Why can we choose our own minimum payout?

The title says it all. Why does myLot allow us to choose our minimum payout starting at $10? I saw options of $10, $25, $50 and so on. Why does myLot do this? How does it help us earn? Or does it at all

I think it gives us a better incentive to write more. MyLot does not want one liners or fluff, it wants us to write posts and spread information. It also wants to encourage us to get more referrals (I am not good at this because I do not do much surfing) so why does it bother you? Do you mean that you just want to get the first minimum a month?

It does not bother me. It actually makes me happier that mylot is so flexible at these kind of things. Getting referrals is hard for everyone. Getting them to sign up is hard, but keeping them active is even harder, so don't stress about it.

I guess it allows us to be able to cash out early at $10.00. That way we can reach it faster.. I guess they would like us to be able to receive out money just as long as it is over $10.00. I would like to reach about $50.00 every month.. And that would mean that I would have to be here all day long, which I can't be..

Unlike some other sites, MyLot pays automatically when the payout limit we set is reached. Some people like to wait longer and receive a larger amount (or, at least, that is the thinking behind it). I've occasionally seen people say that they like to have payout at higher than $10, though, personally, I have always had mine set at $10. I can't see any way in which it would help one earn except that it might encourage some people to work harder to reach a target. Since earning is not the prime reason for my being here (and I don't believe that it should be anyone's), I don't consciously make an effort to earn more except when I am approaching the $10 before the end of the month.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I thought your response was very reasonable and logical. I think if the minimum payout was higher, we would try harder to reach it. However, if it was too high, then we would not even try. And having it less than $10 is too low.

Well we can't do anything for the minimum payout, before joining here mylot set that payout already. Yes, you can set your payout if by holding them to $25 $50 or $100 before cashing out.So just keep posting

Yes, I understand this. I think my discussion title is kind of misleading. Thank you for correcting me.

I think because different people have different needs. For me, I have only just now reached $15. If I had set my minimum payout to $25, I would still be a long ways away from reaching it, let alone $50! Other people just want to save up their myLot earnings. It certainly feels better to have $25 or $50 extra money at your disposal instead of just $10! ;) But, for me, I'm impatient! *LOL* I will ALSO be saving my earnings, I just want the fruits of my labor NOW!

I agree with you. For beginners, we want our payment ASAP. But later on when we know we can earn a lot, we want to save it and cash out all at once. I am also in a similar situation as you. I want to make sure I get my bonus of $10 for being here! lol
