Just finished an Ernie bank for one of our grandkids. Might decide to also make a Big Bird bank and finally a Cookie Monster cookie jar. The grandkids are small and will enjoy these for a long time. At the rate our family is growing, I will need to keep making them! This particular project took me close to three weeks to complete. What's your opinion on this craft?

I do have a photo of the Ernie bank above. It did turn out cute so am now working on another one. Working on these crafts keeps me out of trouble and off the streets..lol Thanks for responding.

What a great looking bank. Any kid would love to have one of those. I can't wait to see the Big Bird and Cookie Monster ones when the time comes that you make them. Three weeks, that is a lot of work but made with a bunch of love I'm sure.

I made a set of 6 wall hangings of the Sesame Street characters for our grandson 4 years ago. They are still on his wall. I like working with plastic canvas as it's so relaxing and the finished product always looks nice. Yep, it did take me 3 weeks but I couldn't just stay on it constantly. Had to give my hands a break. Thanks for the encouraging words and for responding.

I think it is a good idea, kids love these characters and I think they would love feeding them so to speak and they are on the road to saving for their future, it is just the sort of encouragement some kids need I think, well done...

I love working on these sort of projects but they are terribly time consuming. Thanks so much for your kind words and for responding.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I love working on crafts and sharing with our kids or grandkids. Our kids use to tease me about an adult who would spend so much time doing detailed projects. Now they brag..lol Thanks so much for responding.

Love it! Do you plot that on a graph first?

I have a pattern for Ernie. I simply measured the coffee can, cut the plastic and counted to make sure the stitches were in the middle of the actual canvas. I use 7 mesh plastic canvas. Can put any pattern on the canvas and it can be removed to wash also. It was fun. Thanks for responding.

Hi carolbee, I think its wonderful what you are doing and very clever, I'm sure it better going out and buying lot of stuff which cost so much these days and its so much better when you make it yourself as it done with so much love and the kids can keep it for a long time, I think its loveley, I wish I could make things like that but I'm no good with my hands, got no patients. Well done and have fun. Tamara
