I have required my students to participate in the stock trading game that I requested the Philippine Stock Exchange to host. In this activity, they are given One Million Pesos virtual money which they can use to "invest" in the stock market. They practically follow real time and real price. In short, everything is real except for the money and the transactions. This will teach them how to be good investors.
Today, they are scheduled to submit a copy of their investment portfolio for the first week of the tournament (which would actually end in the last week of February). It's so great listening to them talking with their classmates and friends about how good or bad they are doing. They sound so interested and excited.
I feel so good about this because I know that they are learning what they need to learn.

Hello dolce. It is so good a project with the stock trading game assigned to your students so that they can learn more business, whatever business. With some experience gained at college, it will enable them easier to do their future business better. To win is not so important, but to experience is. Wow that is awesome !! hands-on practice would make them really learn and understand the concept. I hope i was able to attend the class. I am very interested to learn how stocks go.

This is a wonderful idea. It would be nice if other teachers were so inventive. This way they can find out if they have a future in stocks or if they are not good at doing things in the sector of life.

Hey dolce! That sounds like a really great idea that you
have. I wish I could be in your class so that I could learn
about the Stock Exchange. I don't know anything about how
it works. I wish I could have had an opportunity to be
taught the way you are teaching your students. They should
be very greatful for such an opportunity like that to learn
while they are in school. It can be a big help to them when
they get older and decide a career or just plain want to

That sound really exciting. I am student and I really like this kind of practical education. In my colleague it is usually about memorizing the staff which (I think) I will never need in really life and I will forget about within 1 week. But there are some subject where we have some simulations. For example on one subject we have a product and we can customize it according to market development (for example its price, quality, what amount to made and so one). It is so exciting because I feel like I am learning something important.
Then at the end we have to prepare ppt presentation and share our performance to the classmates.

That is a very creative activity to make student learn and understand how the stock market works... i can never figure that out just by reading books or reading the news paper... since i find the words and graphs they use too complicated... i sure wish my economics teacher used your method...

If i am still a student I will vote you as dean of what department are you teaching. Because a teacher like you or your strategy in teaching or what we call it a method of teaching you use is not so boring. A lively participation of your students is the proof that you are an effective teacher. Many of your students I know will becoming a good investor someday and that was because of you... Teacher!

wow,what an interesting lesson! i think your classmates will learn much from your creative work.this must can teach them how to be good investors.you are great!
but after all,virtual trade is virtual trade,if your students want to do real trade ,you must tell them the risk of stock trading.you know,we can have a cool mentality in virtual trading,but we can be mad in real trading if the situation is unbenifit for us, so we always make mistakes if we use our real money to do stock trading.
