Do You Keep a Record of Your Dreams?

Hi there! This will sound strange coming from me since I never believe that there are meanings behind our dreams. For me, dreams are just...dreams, random thoughts from our subconscious and unconscious minds.
Provided that just for the sake of discussion, do you keep a record of your dreams? Do you have recurring dreams? Or progressing dreams?
Reason behind these questions is that early this year, I had a dream that i am in a car (passenger seat) and was traveling in a free way. Around 1st week of march, i already heard a voice coming from the person in the driver's seat. Come April, the voice was already distinct. May, I can see part of who the person behind the steering wheel was. June, I already saw the face. it has been several months since I shrug it off until early this month, I had exactly the same dream.
Coincidence as it may seem. Those months were very special to me since it has do with my career, including my promotion and recognition. Last week, i learned that something great will happen to the company again.
Again, just for the sake of discussion...any thoughts on these?

I assumed that is a very attractive female elephant.
My, my... I won't be surprised if your wife one day will be jealous to that elephant.

I used to dream nearly every night for a long time. Now I have got rid of the bad situation. At that time, I can not sleep well ,for i had dreams every night. And when i got up, i would still remember the dream that most of them are dreadful.I think that dreams stand for what you have thought during the day or lately .I seldom care about what i have dreamt during night.

Hi specific,
Whatever that "bad situation" is, it was a good thing that it was over now and all you have is a good night's sleep. I am happy to know that you rest well through the night...
Wish you more beautiful dreams that will come your way....

Hi Mitraa,
How are you my friend? I haven't seen your posts lately. Thank you so much for this very intelligent response. I love how you put it: "Dream is not that what you view in sleep; rather dream is that what does not allow you to sleep."
True enough, if you aim big, you dream big, you will make extra efforts and struggle to much only to have those dreams materialize. That only means not be afraid of our dreams. Rather... be afraid of not reaching for our dreams.
Thank you for this response Mitraa. I am still in the office (and I guess will be stuck here till 5PM,LOL!) But I hope to read more responses and beautiful discussion topics you start.

I have tried to write dreams down in the past and I found that when I did I remembered them - in detail - for a long time. Even just jotting down quick notes would help he remember. Now I'm too tired to wake myself up and start scribbling away, plus I feel bad turning the light on in the middle of the night!

Hi there pxhnchsh,
It is a general knowledge that if you sleep tight and well, you always end up not remembering. Good for you then...

I recorded once or twice the strange dreams I had long long ago, but never come to a habit. Sometimes, I believe writing down the dreams might help improving my writing. And in case dreams come to some point to show a common tendency, they can be used for doctors or psychologists in analysing or judging a disease.
There are a lot of books giving theoretical summary of dreams. I read some just for fun, never taking it seriously.

Hey there zhuhuifen,
Have you watched Butterfly Effect starring Ashton Kutcher? It was exactly what his psychotherapist suggested for him to keep track of his dreams so that he will remember what happened and act regarding the previous dreams he has.
It is a chaotic movie, very complex...but at the end... it was also very interesting!

I have ever try to do that, but just last for 2 days. One morning after I wake up, I still can rememeber the dream that I had the last night and it was very intereting, so I try to write my dream down like keeping a diary. But that night when I read the dream that I kept in the very morning, I found that keeping that dream is nonsense. Because it is ridiculous. The dream was in a mess, my middle school teacher teach me in the college, and my college teacher become my middle school teacher's student. What a dream! ...

Hi iamfine,
I don't think that the dream was nonsense nor ridiculous at all. That was the reason why it was a dream. It is probably you think over and over at the back of your mind or through your subconsiousness. Maybe these two teachers taught you something special. Or their way of thinking is one of a kind. And there are probably some "what if" questions you want to pop up during the time when you were still their student but was not able to do so due to a lot of reasons...
Thank you for this response! I really appreciate it.
