What to do with my jewelry?

I have some old jewelry that I rarely where, and I was trying to figure out what to do with it. I was considering taking it to a pawn shop, and my mom said to take it to a jewelry store. I have seen the commercials that say turn your gold into cash. But I seem really leary of these things. You don't know what you're getting until you send it to them. What do you think? Where should I take this old jewelry?

This Jewellry may be worth more than you think. So, first, I would get it valued. I've also seen the same commercials which look wonderful but still - get it valued before you make a decision. If it is antique you may even consider to hold on to it for as long as you can to see if the value will increase with age. Good Luck

It's not really antique jewelry, although it is kind of old. The one set may be from the 70's. So not very. Holding on to it until the price of gold goes back up may be quite a good idea though. Thanks for your response and have a great day!

you could try selling it on ebay. have you thought about that? i have also heard of a website (from a commercial on tv) that buys old silver and gold. there are some places that will take it so they can melt it down. hope this helps.

Good idea. Although, most of it was gifts and hand me downs so I don't know much about it. I wonder if I could get a good enough picture? Hmm, worth a shot. Thanks and have a great day!
