My daughter has been watching Scooby-Doo while I myLot for a little bit before I put her to bed. It is past her bedtime, so I told her to turn off the movie. "Okay", she says and goes over and ejects the tape and walks away leaving the television on. So I tell her to turn off the television too. Just and example. Do your kids take you way to literal sometimes?

Yeah, young children seem to take everything literally. It's kind of cute. Enjoy it while you can, because there will come a day when they correct everything you say! My boys are teens and they drive me crazy correcting me. They are trying to be funny, but it takes its toll.

when my children are younger yes they do that, and even tel you, thats what you said. but now that they are teens they do that just for laughs. then we will all be laughing at it. for me it is much easier to communicate with children when they are teens already not like when they are younger you have to elaborate everything... then after elaborating there would be tons of questions

THey used to, but i have taught them and it's stuck in their heads to turn the television off, or to put their plates or bowls into the sink after they have eaten. I know exactly where you are coming from adn it does get frustrating at times doesn't it. It'll get easier trust me, and they'll remember to turn the television of automatically once they eject the movie etc. Have a great night.
