Have you ever had an epiphany?

Last week I had one of those moments where something just hit me. I was pondering some of my choices in life; in men mostly and suddenly it hit me, that most of my decisions in that regard had been made not out of my best interest but out of my feelings surrounding my relationship with my son's father. I realized that I was choosing to be with a specific person simply because I knew it would upset him. This person is NOT good for me, I don't care about him the way he deserves but I stay with him in hopes that it will somehow make my son's Dad made enough to get me out of it and because I don't want to be lonely. Isn't that insane? Has anybody ever had a moment like that, where something suddenly just hits you and it changes your whole perspective on something?
