i have many a time gone without starting any discussion and have jsut spent my time answering discussions. I love to answer discussions. That way I do not have to scratch my head to think up something. Today i have answered soem 20 discussions and somewhere along the way i thought if i do not start any discussion and others too do not start any discussion then how will mylot work? Then I thought people are desperate to earn and willdefinitely stsart discussions so discussions will not dry out. I will alwasy have plenty of discussions to answer everyday so i can continue answering. i may earn slower but at lwast it keeps me engaged in doing something i enjoy. there have ben at least 10 days when I have not started a discussion. At tiems i have started about 4-5. it depends on my mod for the day.
What about you?

All this long i have beenonly answering discussions and have posted very few discussions. Now i know why my pay meter is just crawling so slowly. I didn`t know that one could earn more by posting discussions. Thanks for the inadvertant tip.I shall now start posting discussions, but hey, what the dickens ami going to post? I will have to scratch not only my head but every body part to come up with some idea.

When you start a new discussion you do not automatically get paid for it as far as I know. From what I have read here on myLot, your discussion needs to get at least one response before you earn any money from it. So if and when you do start a discussion make sure that the topic is interesting and also that it is a quality discussion.
Generally one-liner discussions do not get a lot of responses from other members when there are so many others to choose from. I think that if you check, you will find that many of the one-liner tpe discussions have no or very few responses. I seldom make a response to these one-line discussions as many of them seem to get deleted. I do not have enough time here on myLot to waste on a discussion that might end up being deleted and I think many other members feel the same way.
Good luck with starting discussions and I hope that do well for you in the earnings section. Even without making a lot of money, you could still find out things of interest in the responses.

Actually I usually do a day or two of answering discussions and then a day of posting new ones...well not a whole day but I post 3-5 new discussions and then answer some more. It tends to keep both sides balanced.

Before I used to start a lot of discussions within the day at least 3-4 perhaps but now I usually just focus on just 1 or 2 discussion/s especially if I get a lot of responses. If I'm too lazy to think of a topic then what I do is I just respond to discussions.

I am more of a respondents to discussions started by friends. I usually put on discussions if I feel like writing.

Actually I am one of those members who seldom starts a discussion at all but instead respond to others when I get the chance to come online to myLot. The reason is because I am often away from home as I am an interstate truck driver and therefore it might be months before I have the chance to come here. Right at this time I am taking a break from work or doing very little driving I should say - using upo my accrued holidays as there is not much work available. All the drivers are doing the same and we are taking it in turns to have a couple of weeks off till work picks up again.
I digressed from the original topic though. I feel that when a person starts a new discussuion they should at least spend some time reading the responses and commenting on them. As I said sometimes it might be months in between when I can get online and to "ignore" a discussion for that long is a bit ignorant. So for e at the present time it is more about responding to rather than starting a discussion. In time the situation might change and then hopefully I will find some topic that interests enouigh members to make a response to it.
In the meantime I am pleased that other members start enough discussions on topics that interest me enough to be able to make a response.
