Many people say that shopping is a great stress buster and mood lifter. When you are feeling low, a session of even window shopping makes a lot of difference. I have tried doing that.As I go mostly to malls for shopping, more than the actual act of shopping, the ambience of the mall works as a great mood lifter. Plus when you see lots of nice things around, it automatically makes you happy. So basically I have felt a lot better after a round of window shopping when I am low. Does that work for you too??

I don't because I think it would just make me more sad to be in debt. I have a friend who does this though, but she doesn't have to worry about money because she gets social security for being disabled. If I'm feeling depressed I just play the harmonica and that cheers me up usually.

Thats true. Moreover when you go shopping and find something of your interest yrt do not have the money to buy it, it just adds to your depression. Thats why I enjoy only window shopping. Where I don't really but anything, but keep planning to come back at a later date (when I have the money) any get it for sure. Thanks for the response.

I call this "retail therapy" and whoever came up with this term is right on. Shopping while I'm down in the dumps does lift me up, but sometimes later on I ask myself "Why did I buy that?" because usually I can't afford it :(
