Can You Watch The Television Even Without A Remote Control?

Nowadays, I find it hard to watch the telly without a remote control. At first, we lost the original remote control when we moved out from our condo and transferred to a new one. Recently, we purchased this universal remote control but my kids were eager to destroy it, and so they did. Lol. Now, whenever I turn on the telly, I find it hard to watch it due to the idea of standing up during commercial breaks just to switch the channel. It depicts the purpose of relaxation. Although before, people do not have this gadget. But why do we depend on it so much? How about you? Do you find it hard to watch the telly even without the remote control?

lol sad isnt it?? i would rather not watch tv i think than to not have a remote!! mostly because i want to know whats on all the channels and there isnt a way of doing fast without a remote.. i cant get all my channels with out a remote either.. prob not even a FOURTH of my channels!! so that would limit what i would want to watch and the getting up and down would wear me out

I'm old enough, I remember BEING the remote control... "Get up and change to channel to such-and-such..." LOL. I think, since the kids destroyed the remote, they now should have that honor!
Honestly, though, with the proliferation of channels nowadays, if I lost my remote, I would be peeved (to put it nicely). I work in a customer call center for a television provider, and at times when going to check the status of a national channel did not have a remote. What a PAIN in the neck!!! Luckily, around my house, I have 3 remotes that would control each of my receivers, so I am OK.

Yes I can im not that lazy where I cant even enjoy watching tv without a remote lol. If I loose my remote I just get up and change the channel only problem is I have to put up with the comercials since I cant change the chanel when ever they come on but no biggie.

Yes, I could watch TV without a remote control... I tend to watch the same channel in the evenings and only change it once or twice.
I do get up to go to the loo or make a cup of tea
so I suppose I could get up to change the channels too

Yes that's true!!I think we depend on the remote because tv programms are always cut by commercial,which we are bored to watch them.So then we want to change channel finding another tv programm.But what if you are lying to bed under the blankets and you dont have the remote control???I can imagine standing up for changing a channel!!!!!!!!
