Paid Focus Groups

I am wanting to participate in a focus group that pays. Prohaps a weightloss group, or a study that involves cunsuming food or beauty products. I'm kinda scared to participate in any medical studies, cuz there's no telling what complications might occur, plus I will feel like a guinea pig or lab rat. So any focus group that pays and gives me any sort of benefit will work, but my medicine/hospital stuff. Anyone know where I can find such a thing in my city? I'm in Houston TX? I'm tried 20/20 Research but they never answer back. I also tried craigslist, but you know about the scams and stuff so, does anybody have another ad-site that I can visit about paid focus groups in my city? *looks around* :D
