It's starting to look a lot like holidays and the loneliness is setting in. Do You ever feel like you got a split personality? One minute you are all happy and then all of sudden you feel so sad, lonely and uncared for. Then you wonder what is it that I want? I took a vacation day today so I am off work. I have started on some of the food I am preparing for tomorrow (Thanksgiving Day.) Now I realize all this time on my hand what am I going to do. And I know in a couple of weeks I will not have a job at all and then I really will have a lot of time on my hands. Do you ever feel this way?

There is something terribly depressing about this time of the year. I know exactly when Autumn begins, not by the calendar, but by the depression that starts to set in for me. Autumn came a few weeks eaqrly this year, telling me it's going to be a long winter. Ugh! I hate winter

You hit the nail on the head.. Winter that season keeps you inside and there really isn't much to do.

I know exactly how you feel. I know some people are always so happy during the holiday's and I wonder how they can be that way. I think of my loved ones who are not here any longer or those who are still alive but not close enough to spend the time with. Right now it is the hustle and bustle of getting things ready for tomorrow and all the cooking and cleaning. At least I have my daughter and grandson who will be headed down this afternoon and should arrive tonight, depends on the traffic as it is usually about a 5 to 6 hour drive and I am sure it will take much longer, and have that to look forward to. I don't work outside of the house any longer.

Just the thought of them coming is exciting and that will give you something to do and to look forward too. You have no time to get in one of those dark moods.

Hey chevee~Yes, I do get that way especially around the holidays. I don't know why. I seem to be happy one minute but most of the times I am sad and don't know why. It never makes much sense to me. But, it always seems to happen around this time of year. It gets worse as it gets closer to New Years. I hate New Years the most. I have always hated it. For whatever reason that is the worst holiday for me. I usually am alone for Christmas sometimes so that is also depressing. But, New Years I usually choose to be alone on purpose because I can't bare to see the New Year start. It's just that I think that it will be a beginning of more bad stuff that will continue from the year before and it usually is no matter how much I want it to be better. I always hope that it will be something new and great, but I still always have that secret dread.

Yes, I think that alot. Now that I have an empty nest sometimes I feel un-needed. I know my family needs me (at least I hope they do lol) but sometimes it feels good to see that they do if you know what I mean. Most of the time I'm ok being alone but there are some days when I wish they were still at home.

I get very moody sometimes during the Holidays. I think it's because I miss the loved ones in my life that are not here to share the Holidays. It's such a stressful time of the year, also. Trying to decide where to go and which family members to see. It really depresses me sometimes. Not to mention, the economy and worrying about buying Christmas gifts. So yes, I definately get moody.

Yes I do feel this way, in fact very much so this week. Mind you that could be because I am having sh*tloads of hassles at home! But the holiday seasons do not help a person. I am sorry to hear that you will not have a job soon, it seems that so many people are in this position right now and christmas coming too it is going to be such a hard one for people this year.
