Why girls are always shy?

This is a million dollar question I think! Why girls are shier than the boys? And there is hardly any exception. Someone may argue that girls are typically shy in the third world countries. But I don't support their view.
I have seen many girls who come from so-called modern family. They try to show off as if they were so much smart. But that is not their real aspect. When it comes to the point of facing the practical world, they are so much shy to be shown up!
Even if they are deprived anytime of anything, they remain tight-lipped most of the time instead of speaking up. They do not want to be introduced as shameless in front of a male counterpart! Most of the time, girls rather fast than to ask for food! Most of the time, girls don't protest when they are oppressed or molested or threatened!
What is their problem? Why they love to remain cornered in their entire life?

i never thought about this question before..
to me. i always shy when i made a mistake,but i saw lots boys are shy too.
when they meet some new friends or strangers..they would be very nevers,very shy..
can this called exceptions?

Well, seriously, most of the girls are shy becasuse it's our nature to be feminine and to be carefree. But nowadays, there are girls who acted like boys anymore and who are more dominating than their partner.

Girls are shy?!?!? Yes there are some girls that are shy but I have seen tons and tons of guys that are shy. I guess its the personality that one carries to really say a person is shy. Some people won't speak out and speak up for what they beleive in. But sorry I'm a girl and I am more outspoken than most guys. Hint here most guys. It really doesn't matter the gender you will find guys that are shy as well and sometimes even more so than girls.

In our region(India,Bangladesh,Pakistan)girls are generally shy.But in the western countries girls are not so.Our society made the girls so shy.There are barriers for our girls in every aspect of life.Actually Their hands,legs and mouths are tied.They have to listen from their parents:don't go there.don't do this,don't talk to him ,don't behave like this and so on.The society made them crippled.The towns may be exception.But in the large village area of our region this is the picture.Actually our girls are captive.
