We had my parents, my foster brother and his daughter over for dinner and we had a wonderful time! We ate till we all could pop! lol No room for pie no matter what kind it was. I had cherry, apple and two pumkin pies and finally after about 2 hours, I finally got my slice of cherry pie and mmmmmm!! It was so good!! Since dad is a diabetic, I got the sugar free cherry and apple pie fillings and hoped for the best and it was right good!! My oldest brother couldn't make it because his son was in some church function and my middle brother didn't come because his wife was having dinner with her oldest son and his wife. Oh well. Both are going to regret this because it COULD very well be mom and dad's last with us for we don't know BUT I do know this, they're not getting any younger and their health is not good but what they choose to do knowing this is on their own conscience, not mine. Anyway, hubby and I were up till 4am last night getting things done so we wouldn't be so overwelmed with all the preparations and was up again at 10:30 but dragging our tails behind ourselves but after a cup of coffee, we were up and going again! I went upstairs after much debate and got my decorations down and put them up in a hurry and they turned out right nice!! The only thing that I don't have that I wish I did is ceramic Indians to go with the pilgrams that my grandmother had when she passed away. I got 'em and painted 'em right nice! So I set them as a center piece for the table then of course they got taken off when it was time to load the table up with all the food. We gave most of it to my parents because after talking to my aunt, apparently they don't have much in their freezer. I think what's happening is, since my nephew is being kicked out, mom and dad have to save every penny they have to make the next house payment and not only that, they need all the supplies needed to paint and clean that house that they're trying to sell so it felt really good to give them all the food. I'm going to have to check their freezer to see what they have because of what my aunt has told me. I will NOT let my parents starve no matter what. Ain't happening. Another thing, I took mom aside and gave her the money that I've been saving that I earned here on mylot ($60.) and told her that this is her money to do with however she pleases because I know she's without money and that just isn't sitting well with me. She of course bawked about it but I told her I've had a great time making it and I will NOT take no for an answer and besides, you were there to bail us out when we were so down and out now it's my turn. As she went to hug me she had tears in her eyes and said thank you I love you and then she turned away to put it in her purse. THAT was my highlight of my day/night!! It felt so good to see her happy again in a different way. Friends, I love my parents and will do anything in the world for them!!Now to turn this into a discussion, did you enjoy your Thanksgiving? Did you have lots of family come? Did you decorate for the holiday? Tell me all about it!!

It sounds like a wonderful day for all of you!! Too bad your brothers did not come, but it is their loss. Enjoy your time with them, as it was probably alot less stressful, having them to yourselves.

It was a wonderful day!! We all really had a good time and we all got so full that we couldn't eat another bite, not even pie!! lol But once time passed by, some of us had some pie too and then we all wanted to crawl away and go to sleep. lol In fact, my brother did!! He fell asleep on my couch! lol As for my brothers, yes it is their loss. They'll some day (sooner than they think) will regret it.

This is what I wished for you, a good day, a happy day. I had a good day too, I am still stuffed. My mom came over, we went across the street to my sons house. They had dinner over there, his sister in law did most of the cooking, she did a terrific job, she is 17 years old. My son did the turkey, my contrabution was me, going over there and eating. Plus they borrowed lots of my stuff, card table and chairs, tableclothes, pans, potato peeler, etc. It was a nice day, tomorrow its up early and out shopping. Gotta get the bargains. I am so happy for you cats that you all had a nice day, I am glad that your brothers didn't come and spoil nothing. Take care.

I just had my first turkey sandwich and mmmmm mmmmmm!! It was good!! Turkey is my favorite meat and I don't eat much meat at all these days because I'm just not a meat eater but I LOVE turkey!! A 17 year old cook most of the meal? Wow!! When I was 17, I could barely cook an egg!! lol My mom tried to teach me how to cook and I just wasn't interested. I hate to cook but do it because we all have to eat, right? But wow, I'm amazed at that girl!! Good for her!! And good for you because you didn't have to clean any of it up!! lol That's how to do it!! It's why I had it at my house so mom wouldn't have any of it to clean up, or rather dad since mom is unable to do much. Anyway, I'm heading for bed soon because I'm sooooo dogged tired. No shopping going on here, no money no shopping. It's going to be another hard Christmas for us, two years in a row but it's ok, as long as we each other, we'll be fine. These times don't last forever, right? Thanks so much for your wishes Polly!! That is so so kind of you!! Hugs!!

Yeah, there is one but it's still a wee bit hard to find but for a day we let it shine and shine it did!! lol It was great!! To have a day to let all worries go, wish we could have a few more but it's about to get really busy on the 2nd when hubby and I go up to the house which is 4 hours away and paint and clean the whole thing. It's not big at all but the work is but we'll get it done and then we come home to decorate for Christmas, my house and my parents. We both have A LOT of decorations but I doubt we get near half of it out. Just one of those things this year but some is better than none, right? lol
