How can I make a restore diskette/cd in Windows 2000? / myLot

I got a problem over a laptop which crashed yesterday. We already tried to but still we didn't got it on how to recover important files from the HD.

There is this boot cd from microsoft called winternals. You can boot from this cd and try to recover files on you hard drive. Also avast antivirus also has a similar boot cd. I have a friend who have used the winternals to recover from crashed windows xp, it worked fine.

I need back the music and some inportant micro softword file save on the hard drive. The cd drive on the computer is not working so I copy the windows xp on a thumdrive and run a system repear on the computer. Ofter that I found three photos on the computer & no music or office files.
