Just a childhood memory that was running through my head a few minutes ago! My brother Alan had this friend, Darryl Charles, who was rather annoying. But then he was my younger brother's friend, so how could he not have been? Anyway one day he shared with us a note that came home from one of his teachers. It said:
Darryl is trying. Very!
Imagine that poor boy's delicate little psyche being told that! lol Have any of you ever been accused of being "trying" or "difficult" or some such thing? In a funny way, perhaps?

When we were first married, I was particular about my hair, clothes, and especially my makeup(I never left home without putting on my "face"). My husband liked to refer to me as "high maintainance". I guess that's about as close to "trying" that I've actually heard said about me. You know though, now I'm wondering if people could be saying things about me behind my back .......... oh, no............here come the childhood insecurities again.........sigh...........lol

Well if it takes you two hours to put it all on, I guess high maintenance might be applicable. But on the other hand, as long as you can time it so you're not late, who cares?

I don't recall ever getting a note like that either. And after elementary school I was really quiet anyway...

I was the shortest person in my 3rd grade class and everyone made fun of me, so in retaliation I'd hit them. However, I'd always get in trouble. One day in front of the whole class the teacher said that the class would be a lot better if I wasn't in it and that I was a "problem". I didn't let it get to me, probably because I was a little kid, but like two years later she was telling everyone I was one of her favorite students.

That's the sad thing about retaliation, seems like you're always the one who gets caught! Glad you were able to turn it around though!
