Finally, a turn for the better! Background check is back and temp services wants

me to work tomorrow. So immediate temp work and some future substitute work possible. The background check cleared 11/14/08, but my State didn't notify me and I was told they would. So I had someone check for me today and my clearance came back a long time ago! They changed to notifying you to putting it on a different part of the website. I called the school and they will send everything to the board tonight and the board will vote on me. Meanwhile, I was offered work tomorrow, packing boxes with nutrition bars. I had said, "Yes." So I called back and said I would go if I'm not called to sub. They said they understand, just to let them know if I get called to sub. It will probably take awhile for my name to appear on the sub list, so not much chance of there being a conflict tomorrow, but just in case. The temp service told me to call back if I do sub instead. I hope I get to sub at the little school nearby. I've subbed there two times before and the students are great! The teachers are nice. It's small and very homey. I hope I sub a variety of classes. I really would love to sub art right now. I wonder if they have reading in the old classroom I subbed in once before. So wish me luck on the vote tonight and cross your fingers that I won't burn myself with a glue gun tomorrow (yes, I've had this bar packing job before, hate gluing the boxes and standing on cement-if they'll let me sit, stand, sit, stand and let me use glue dots instead of the gun, I'll be happy).
