What is the matter with the dog?

I was laying down, taking a bit of nap. A habit my very prego self has gotten into in the last few weeks. The dog had taken up residence on my side of the bed. She usually parks herself on my hubbys side. Anyway there was a knock on the door. This would normally send her into a frenzy. Barking and heading for the front door, into the window. You know the whole protecting her home and family. But nothing! Not even a lift of her head. That has never happened before. And she was awake. So I hoisted my roundness out and looked. A UPS guy has left a package. Makes me wonder where my ferocious doggie went. Any other time..CUJO!

She might be feeling sick or she might have come to grips with the fact that the UPS guy comes to your house. As I recall, you have a roommate (moving out soon) who gets a lot of packages. Perhaps she has finally give up on going nuts every time someone knocks at the door. :)

Maybe she was feeling ill or something maybe it is a good time to make a trip to the vet to see if she is ill or has a cold. I would think they would feel bad just like us if they were sick.

She is probably reacting to your impending birth. She may be feeling insecure right now because of the baby. She is sure to sense that you are pregnant and that a baby will be here soon. As for not barking and getting up, she may just be resting as you are, and since you didn't make a big deal of the UPS guy, she didn't either. I don't know for sure though. It's hard to say with doggies sometimes. Mine has been sleeping like rock for days, he's so lethargic he doesn't even want to play ball. But he's healthy.

Maybe the dog is not feeling well today. That is what it sounds like to me. Most of the time my dogs bark their little heads off when people even drive by. Some days though, they just kinda lay in the yard.

Your doggie, probably was feeling too warm and fuzzy to get up and thought, oh well, she can see who is at the door this time. my cat Jake always has to see who comes into the house, and goes to them and rub against them. The other day the cable man was here and Jakie was no where to be found. I guess even pets have their days.
