So, did I get the job?

Last week I had an interview the day before thanksgiving, i had the choice to make it a Monday but I chose Wednesday. Anyways, I did a GREAT job at the interview, I was friendly, i joked with the interviewer, she showed me the cubicles and said she hadn't shown anyone the cubicles before. It was quite amazing. And the receptionist said she felt like she had made a friend in me already. It's for a Graphic Design job for a big firm, and it seems like the perfect place for me to work. I KNOW that I would be excellent there and that I would shine through! The interviewer said that her boss and the woman making decisions would be in town on Monday after holiday and that they would call me on Tuesday to let me know if I got the job. It's almost 3 here and it's Tuesday and no call yet. My friend says that maybe the boss took a couple more days off, and that they'd call no matter if i got the job or not. But I don't know I feel so anxious. i really really need this job. My current job can no longer make payments and they are two weeks behind in paying me. it's very frustrating and I don't know what I am going to do. So, do you think I still may have gotten the job and they're just behind on letting me know?

The waiting would drive me crazy. They sometimes take their time getting back to you.I think after I have waited all day, I would call them to see if they have reached a decision, the worse they can say is no. That way you will be able to relax awhile and not stress yourself out waiting for a phone call. I wish you well and hope you get the job. I am also looking for work now, but I have not even gotten close to an interview. Again, good luck.

I say give it another day or two, it is possible she didn't come into town, or another interview came up (sorry). If you don't hear anything tomorrow call on Thursday or Friday and find out the status. Good luck!!!

Yeah, maybe a call on Friday would do the trick, just to check in and see how it's going. I was really personably with the receptionist she really liked me, so maybe calling her and talking to her would be the thing to do after a couple of days. Thank you so much!

I hope you got the job. I would keep applying. Interviewers, and bosses, tend to play games sometimes to see if you really want the job. Which I think is silly because why else would you interview. Two years ago, I sent out resumes and got a call from a boss that was interested. So, I went and they had someone else interview me despite saying they would. So, all during the interview I was annoyed. Then the interviewer asked me when I could work, hours and days (it was for part time) and told me they only had full time. I explained and thought it over and I lost the job. I got a call a week later asking me to go there and I declined.

Thank you, that makes sense, but still I am just SO anxious, and I don't care if they play games to try to get me to really want the job, I DO and I feel that I deserve it over anyone else that they may interview. Thanks for your advice and helping to put me at ease!
