Tonight I won 2nd place!!

I was at a cribbage tournament tonight. I was partnered up with an old man who I know has won before for 1st place. A lot of elders play this game and I feel like a baby when I"m there. Every Monday they cribbage takes place at a legion and that one is in the afternoon. Tuesday evenings take place at a bar and some of the regulars from the legion show up there as well. My partner and I were in first place with 979 points played within 8 games. We had to wait for the last two tables to finished up their games but when they were done we found out that we made it to 2nd! First place made $80 and 2nd made $48 so I had to split the $48.00 with my partner so we both walked out with $24.00 each. Not bad for playing a game I love. I'm fairly new to the community so it was a nice way to get to meet people too. Have you ever entered into a tournament of anykind? How did you do?
