I dont know about you guys, but I always am more comfortable with print outs. I can sit at leasure anywhere and read the printout, go over it again and again till it makes sense, and thats how it is with me. I get bored to read long pages directly from the screen, having to move up and down to re read paragraphs. I also understand better with printouts. Am I one of the crazy few ??

hi kety, please include me in that 'crazy few'... because i am totally like you... i read + understand from print-outs.. and it is much easier to detect mistakes in the print-outs, as well... especially when i need to 'cross-reference' two or three datas at the same time...

I guess we crazy are not few but many according to the response I have received. With cross refrences, one can go crazy on the screen. I can clearly see your point of view. Printouts are so much easier on the eye and brains. lol.

I don't know about the crazy part and I have no idea how few there are of you. I do know this, I prefer the screen to printouts. I just stop reading if it gets too painful. If there are too many words then you've lost me already. Keep it short, I always say. Cheers!!

I guess you are one of the few who prefer reading on the screen to printouts from the responses I have got. So long as the matter is brief, there is no hassels to read from the screen, but with long ones, its a p ain. Like you say, keep it short and people will read. Cheerio.

To me the comfort lies with the length of the article or the matter which i am reading. If it is long and needs to be understood in depth, then i would print it out and read.

Yes, if the article is short as in mylot discussions, its ok to read directly on the screen, but otherwise, I too would definitely prefer printouts. Easire on the mind and the eye. Thanks.

I know a friend of mine who actually reads an E-Book yeah take note an E-book "novel" straight from the screen. I can never do that honestly. My eyes would easily tire and I might as well go to sleep than continue reading. Like you I prefer to print out very long paragraphs rather reading it from the screen it's much easier to browse and understand.

That guy must be one in a million. Imagine reading an E-book. He must be having a terrific concentration power and good eyesight. We are the normal type who prefer to read printouts. Thanks.

I also like reading printouts. Reading on screen, especially long paragraph makes my eye feel uncomfortable. Usually I have no patience to read it to the end on screen. We are the same.

hi ketybhagat!! Ah I think you are not the only one do that. I do the same thing. I like to printout what ever article I like to read. Its easy for me to highlight the point from the articles. Plus, I cant read too much on the screen, its hurt my eyes a lot. So thats why Im always get my Printer on stand by mode. XD

It depends on what I'm reading. If it's news or entertainment stuff, it's okay reading from the screen. But if it's numbers or technical information that I need to refer or cross-reference, then I would prefer to print it out.

Small stuff in small doses is ok on the screen, but otherwise no, big no. I can understand your problem if you have to have cross refrences. A printout is so much more easier on the eyes and brains.

I agree. I think it is also because of the lighted screen on a computer. It is more straining on the eyes. That is why I cannot imagine reading a book online! I like to have it in my hands and on paper. Good discussion topic!

Thank you rocket. Its not just the light on the screen, you get a crick in your neck reading long topics on the screen, besides understanding it also becomes a problem. Reading a book on screen, ugh ! Id hate it too.
