TALK ABOUT Ulcers, an ulcer can spoil our enjoyment of any meal, it makes you worry about how the stomach will react what we eat. Many have been advised to avoid spicy foods because of ulcers, give up smoking or lower stress levels; all these are things to consider but are they really the solution?
I did a little search and here are some of the things I came up with as tips for those suffering from ulcer.
1. Ulcers can actually be treated using antibiotics to attack the bacteria that caused them; medication is prescribed to reduce gastric acid that worsens the patient’s pain. Such treatment will usually take 3 days.
The followings are diet tips for ulcer patients
Change you’re eating habits to make your health better. You must avoid over-eating; you can try 5 or 6 small meals through out the day rather than 3 big meals
Try to rest for a few minutes before and after you eat. Eat slowly and chew thoroughly being calm helps digestion.
Avoid eating in the 3 hours before you go to sleep.
Cut down on your caffeine intake this will include coffee, tea, some gassy cool drinks
Stop smoking completely and avoid alcohol as much as you can (better if you can give it up totally)
Watch what you eat and their effects on you
Seek a doctor’s advice.
