Are these any good?

I have got loads of Cd's and children's dvds that need a good clean and repair. The machines that just clean discs are all well and good but I might just as well buy something that is going to repair them too. I spoke to a man in a shop and he said that his machine was £80 (about $118). I had a look on eBay and came across these other machines that only cost £19 (about $28) which is a huge difference. The man at the shop will mend disks for people but at a charge of £1.75 (about $2.57) per disk!! He's having a laugh if he thinks I am going to hand over 20 odd disks for him to fix!!
I will include a link at the end of my discussion so you can see the £19 one I am talking about.
Does anyone know if these are any good or if I would be wasting my money?

Hi Humbug, I went into discussion to see what others had said as I don't know either but I agree with P1key in that the seller is reputable and you will be saving a lot and if you can obtain the mending solution separately I would personally go for it. I may buy one myself as last year I bought Cars dvd for my son and he scratched it by dropping on the floor than treading on it after only watching it once, I also have a fair few CDs that I play so often that they skip and jump so could do with fixing. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ya ellie333
I too agree with p1key, he's a helpful chap isn't he? I had thought about doing that but I still don't think I could charge as much as £1.50 it seems an awful lot doesn't it. By buying one I thought it would be cheaper than buying the dvd all over again!!
Thanks ellie

If you have a valuable DVD or CD that your kids use regularly I would suggest that you would make a backup of it. It would be far more cheaper than trying to buy a repair machine kit. To be honest I have never bought any of these and I do think that they are simply waste of money.

Hi ronaldinu
That's not a bad idea ronaldinu I might have a go at doing that but is it as easy as that just to copy a dvd onto the computer and burn it onto another disc? I would not consider this to be illegal as I have already bought the dvd and I would not be doing it to sell, only for my personal use.

I have no idea I am afraid Humbug, but the seller looks quite respectable. You've saved 75p per disk by buying and it's good for another 30, probably more so your per unit cost is more than halved again. I'd go for it. If you pay by PayPal you'll have some added security too. I had a look around the net and found nothing adverse about it.

Hi ya p1kef1sh
I am wondering how good it is though! Thank you so much for doing some research there for me, you're a pal.
The good thing is aswell is that you can buy more or the repairing product direct from them too. I am saving my myLot earnings to get so in a way I will feel like I willbe getting it for nothing so I guess I won't be losing out either way eh?
