Frozen Dog

I was watching TV and seen the news report on the dog that was frozen to the sidewalk. Can you believe that! I have a little dog, its what people call a mutt but I love her just the same. She's real cute, real short and long. I just couldn't see letting her stay outside in freezing weather until she was frozen to something! I live in a state that doesn't get that cold very often but when it does I make sure that my pets are warm to. The way I look at it is if you're not going to take care of them or not able to take care or them, then you should have them. How do you feel about this, do you think that people should take extra care of their pets in the winter time?

I have 2 cats and although it does get decently cold here, they stay outside, but I make sure that they have food, water, and shelter. They live on a screened in back porch, so it's not completely outside. We found a barrel that is used as their house to keep the wind off of them and I put some blankets in the barrel for them. They curl up together too and keep each other warm.

My dog and cat is in and out of the house all of the time, when It's warm out side you can tell because they will run out side when you open the door and once their out they don't want to come back in. But once it gets cold you can look out I have to entice my dog to go out to even go to the bathroom, I have to give her a doggy biscuit before she will go out.

It's really pitiful for the dog...
Some people don't really know how to take care of dogs, they just want to have the dogs and thought it should be fun. But perhaps when they realized it's too troublesome to take care of the dogs, they just abandon them. It's so sad.
Of course, we should always take care of the pets, especially it's really cold in the winter time.

I agree with you some people get pets and then when they get older their not so cute and they feel like their more trouble then their worth.

That is terrible. That poor puppy. I live in michigan and it gets very cold here. I have a little dog also and I always make sure that when it is cold he doesn't spend to much time out side.

When I seen the news about the dog I went to the door and checked on my dog. I got worried that something was going to happen to her. It doesn't freeze very often, but after that I felt like I should just put her inside. I know that sounds crazy.

Thats just terrible that a person would do that to a pet. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and they are sometimes treated better then I am. They get to sleep in a warm bed every night. They eat good also. I have seen on TV where people treat there pets really bad. No water,food or shelter. People need to treat there pets better or dont own any.

I with you, I have 1 dog and 1 cat and their real good friends, I wouldn't take nothing for them. I live alone and their such a comfort to me at times.
