Well the body shop called early this morning. The repairs to the body and the painting are done. Wooo Hoooo! But wait a second................
Seems that there is non accident related damagaes to the vehicle. The rear shocks are those air ride that use hydraulic fluid. One was leaking badly and rusty. The vehicle is almost 4 years old so this is sort of normal wear and tear especially for Minnesota driving conditions. Now I need to replace those 2 rear air ride shocks. They will do the work for free and I just pay for the parts whoich is okay by me. So there's anohter $300 out of pocket exspense. As long as there is no more problems along this line I will get my Buick back this afternoon sometime.

Glad to here that you are getting your Buick back today. That is good that they found the problem with your shocks before you took your Buick home, and fixing it for fee is great. Now you can get rid of red.

Cars can be such a money hole, but what are you going to do, especially in some smaller towns and rural areas there is little to no alternative to a personal vehicle. At least you are supposed to be getting free labour. Happy motoring.

Ah, yes, the hidden damage... just as long as the wibbleys aren't frangipanned...
$300 seems a bit steep just for "parts", don't you think?

They are not normal shocks most have on their cars is why they are costly. They are hydraulic filled air ride and computerized with a zero effect deal or something like that. Long detailed info, but basically they are operated by a computer chip in the car that keeps the ride evenly even when riding on a hill or slanted road etc.

Hi Grandpa Bob, Well at least she won't drive like a boat if the rear shocks are done eh! $300 but the labour for free is great news. I hope you do get back this afternoon as I know how much you have been missing her. Huggles. Ellie :D

Well it will be good for you to get your car back, I bet your ready, but its too bad they found something else that needed to be fixed. Are you sure they are doing the work for free? My husband works at a garage, and he said the labor is always higher than the parts are, we have to make a living too he says. I don't know alot about shocks, but I wouldn't think they would be worth 300 bucks. I hope it all works out tho....

Hi there Grandpa Bob. I think it is good that they discovered the other damages non related to the accident, as it is better to get those fixed as well as fast as possible. I don't think you will get the car today as it us already late, but perhaps tomorrow you will have your baby Buick once more in your arms.
Take care and have a hug from me as well: }}}Grandpa Bob{{{

Sorry about your shocks Bob. You do not need expensive at this time of year with Christmas coming up.You are still not having much luck really.
I am really pleased you are getting your car back today. It seems ages from your accident now.
Let me know when you get your Buick back and I am sure you will not miss that red Toyota one little bit.

Sorry to hear about the extra repairs. Ouch, but necessary maintenance I guess. At least you are going to get out of that rental and back into your car. This is great news. I am glad you are keeping us up on all the repairs and things. I hope you have no more problems with your car after this.

I am glad to here that you did not have to buy a new car. I do love my 2002 La Sabre even thou I do not drive anymore. My driver and I take my car and when my hubby and I go out for somewhere nice we take my car.

Hope you get it back and everything is in order. Mine's in the shop too, transmission, car is only 8 months old. Grumble. At least it's under warranty. But that is certainly NOT normal wear and tear for California or anywhere else! Well maybe some place with really steep hills, but probably not!

You are lucky! We need a shock on the back of our SUV. My husband told one guy that he'd be checking on the cost of a shock before buying another vehicle. This one will cost us $500 (my husband could put it on), but we aren't ready to let go of the money just yet!
Glad you are soon going to have your beloved Buick! I know you are excited, and ready to get rid of your 'red monster'.
