I'm not totally sure how the bailouts work...

OK, just about everyone has been hearing about the US government bailing out the banks and auto makers. I got to wondering this morning though while listening to the latest news. How is the US government, which has some TRILLION dollars as a deficit, going to fund these bailouts? I mean, the US government is already running in the red. Does it really make sense to go DEEPER into the hole to pay for the mis-management of these businesses? Where is the money coming from? Other than from MY paycheck!!!! I'm just hoping that there are some stipulations for this before just handing it over. Now, I do realize that all this will HELP us in the long run - no loss of jobs, stimulate economy, all that. But if you think about it, the US government doesn't have the money to do this. You think credit counselors will work with the white house to get them back on track :)
