Ahhhhh.....c'mon guys.....get your minds out of the gutter.
certainly you know what i meant was, when your computer is turned on, is your internet speed fast or is it slow???
i have so called "high speed internet" from the phone company, but it can still be mind numbingly slow.......of course i'm on a $50 Frankenstein computer....but hey, it gets the job done.
but then i see people talking about having "dial-up" connection and i can't even imagine how slow that must be.
so what's your internet speed.........fast or slow???

I think a new interest is called for - 'The Gutter'.
Mine should be faster than it is. I'm not getting what I'm paying for but they are supposed to be upgrading it all over the country so I haven't complained. I make do as, for my needs, it's quite sufficient

snowmen in the gutter.
internet in the gutter.
i think it would make a great interest.
but then again, it's so much fun to come up with mis-leading headlines to draw them in......see below.

I am so not going to respond to this discussion. The title was so, so misleading, and I am thoroughly disappointed!

Great title to get some attention sconibear!
I am lucky in that I have a cable going from my home directly to my office on the 5th floor; so it's very fast speeds for me 24/7 thankfully! Well almost 24/7 anyways seeing as this is Cairo and electricity, servers and networks can sometimes go a bit awry! My Mother back home still uses dial-up and I have no idea how she can tolerate it.

Firs of all, I admit you got me in there with your intro.

Ok, go back to normal things. I have or should I say we have fast connection, it's broadband 56K and since we acquire it, we don't have any problems with the speed although we have to share the speed of at least 2-4 connections in a single day. It is still quite fast than normal.

yeah, i think mine's 56K too.
it lags a little when it comes to watching videos and stuff like that, but it works pretty good for just average internet surfing.

yeah, besides the actual internet connection, i think a lot of it depends on the computer itself.

Hey sconi! You know you just made me decide to call the company
that I have my service with and make a formal complaint! I
am supposed to have high speed! Now I used to have dial up.
My high speed takes forever! It sure isn't instant access and
it is with my cable company who also provides my phone and
my tv service! Yup! They have me locked in now! They offered
this "deal you couldn't refuse" for the first year! Yeah, I
know! Well. I was trying to save money and I did for a year!
Now, I'm finished with the great deal and I really don't feel
that this connection is that fast. It takes about 4 minutes
to load! Is that fast? Not to me! I think I will actually
time it again! I want them to lower their fee since all they
keep doing is raising it!

yeah i have high speed also....it's ok, but i would like it a little bit faster.
i'm sure the computer has a lot to do with it too.
we paid $50 for this one from a computer tech....it's put together from different parts, so i guess i can't complain.
