Do you ever gag yourself when cleaning your ears?

I really hate when this happens because I'm all clean getting out of the shower until I take a q-tip and clean my ears out. I guess I push too hard and all the sudden it happens. GAG yuck! I feel all dirty all over again. I'll start coughing and then my eyes start to water up. It discusts me. Do you do this too?

HEck NO! and the best way to clean your ears is to buy that wax removal stuff have to hold head lopesided for awhile but it does bring up the wax and you can get it out with little trouble and no gagging!

Are you talking about ear candles? I've used them a couple times. It was this hollow candle looking thing. My cousin's girlfriend (at the time) had them and we did that and I just couldn't believe the stuff that came out ewwwww. A few years later I tried them again and it screwed up my equalibrium so I felt like I was drunk when I wasn't. Fun times

never heard about ear candles these are just drops that you drop in ear with a dropper.

well nixx, You reallly should not be cleaning your inner ear with q tips.. any doctor will tell you this. The wax is in there to protect the fine hairs that contribute to your ability to hear!! If the outside of your ear is waxy, you should be able to wash it away with a facecloth and your finger! I have on occasion used q tips before i knew better and i've never gagged, but it has made me cough. Another reason you shouldnt use them is because you can damage your ear drum. And a lot of times the q tip pushes more wax to the backk of your ear canal so there will be a build up of wax around it possibly impairing your hearing as well.

My mom would use q-tips on our ears when we were kids so I guess I learned that way. I knew this girl actually she was one of my good friends. I went with her to a job interview and I looked at her ears they had such bad wax build up that you could see it so thick! It was super gross so I know she never cleans her ears. I never want that to occur. I'm not one who regularly digs a q-tip in my ear just around the outside of where the hole starts and I use the q-tip to get into the small parts as my ears are small. Thanks for your advice
