Taking them sledding

My daughter with a snowboard - My daughter with her snowboard after going down the hill on it. This was her first year using a snowboard, and she did pretty well with it.

We just went sledding for the first time this winter. It may have actually been my toddler's first time sledding in his life. I'm not sure if we brought him down the hill at all last year, as he only would have been 18 months old. He was a bit worried at first, but since we've had fresh snowfall these past 2 days, there were no tracks on the hill. So the kid's sleds weren't going anywhere. In order to make some tracks, I went down the hill on a sled, and brought the toddler with me. He loved it!After that all the kids had a ball, even the toddler, who kept whining everytime all the sleds were in use. (I had 2 sleds and 1 snowboard for 4 kids). He eventually only wanted the faster sled, and ignored the larger but slower one. We didn't stay long because it was cold, the toddler was getting tired, and the baby was miserable. But the time we did spend doing it was loads of fun! What is more fun for you, going down the hill, or watching a small child enjoy sledding for the first time? I only took 1 picture the whole time we were out there... and it's of my 6 year old daughter. But I did take some videos. Too bad I can't post them here!

My daughter has never been sledding and my son has actually only been once before. He enjoyed it, but froze his little hiney off. I never really got into sledding, so seeing a kid do it for the first time would be more exciting for me.
