Should there be other methods to sort discussions and responses?

The current method of discussion sorting is "latest first" and for responses its "Latest last". Do you think there should be sorters available so as to get through responses and discussions better? I mean lot of discussions get left behind due to lack of exposure caused by new discussions that come up.
Well we already have many categories of discussions in the form of tabs in the discussion column but all of them use the same method, latest or active discussions will be displayed first.
I think ther should be two kind of sorters available - Time and Number of responses.
Each discussion category should have an ascending and descending sorter available, so that we can look through discussions that have been posted or created in order of time.
Also the other sorting technique can be, in ascending and descending order of number of responses a particluar discussion has.
What do you think? Are there any other method of sorting you would like to suggest?

I think the reason they have this method right now is so the active discussions can remain active for as long as they can. I think the way its sorted now is just fine... The only thing I would change is after you reply to a discussion for it not to come up in the list, of other places other than the I replied to section...
Other than that I think mylot is great.. and I love how mylot has had it set up.
New features can not hurt it.. but you get to much in there and it started to get to busy for people.. who are short on time.

That's a nice point you make. I ended up once repsonding to the same discussion twice! There should be some kind of manner in which we can distinguish the ones we have responded to and the ones we havent yet.
Even a small "tick" sign against the ones already responded would be very helpful.
Lets hope these changes are possible.

i agree.. which is why i have everyone on notify because i have so many friends discussions disappear fast but then my inbox gets slammed and i cant go through them all so i cant figure out a happy medium!

yes. it is very good idea to have better ways. still there are many things to take in to consideration ,like in the present situation of mylot the best workers are only promoted and thus they keep being the best/active worker.
i think it is better to have individual grade is good and may be equal more helpful chances has to be starters. may be allowing them some easiness in rules atleast for first month. as they need time to understand things.
