choose to get. What is the news you long to hear or the best news that you could get?

I would love to hear that Son in law gets a job in Nebraska or Kansas, right after the first of the year. Minnesota is too far away, and there is a second grandbaby coming.

That I had been offered a job with accommodation but I would have to relocate, that would be wonderful news for me because I value my independence, I miss it, I know I am grateful to my parents for providing a roof over my head when I had to leave my ex, but now it is getting too much, I need to live alone, I want my own space, privacy, freedom, independence and I need a job too, so to combine the both would truly be wonderful news for me.

Those are wonderful things to want good news on and someone will be very lucky to have you in their employment because you do have good judgement and wisdom. Its very true, that once you have had independence, you always want it and miss it, there is nothing that can replace freedom.I am glad that you are blessed with great parents.

I have so much here.... I would have to say that My Cousin finds a job (She's been laid off) Also, that she gets pregnant again (Lost her twins earlier this year) Then, that my son is picked up so that the government covers his therapy costs! (Just found out he is now number six, likely another five or six months at this rate!) ~Heavens~

Hmmm, I think, right now at this very moment, the best news I could get would be that everyone in my family is up and ready to get our Christmas celebration together; ready to decorate, to cook, to clean and prepare for a houseful of guests. I've cancelled Christmas this year. Well, the celebration of it, anyway. No more decorating, no baking, no tree, nothing. I've bought all the gifts and they are already wrapped, but no one else seems the least bit interested in decorating or anything else. I'm tired of doing it all myself, every year, so I've cancelled Christmas. Of course, this is depressing. I'd love to receive a phone call or see someone in my family standing at my front door, decorations in hand, ready to get this thing together! But, I'm not going to hold my breath. Other than that, I'd love to learn that I've won an all-expense-paid vacation to the Caribbean for a month... just for me... no one else. Selfish? Yeah, and it's about time! I've never been selfish in my life so I think I've earned a little bit of it.

Many times during the craziness of the holidays, I have thought about Jamacia Man lol and how nice it would be to go tropical and chill out but duty calls. I have three children and 5 grandchildren so bailing out , it isnt an option.

If I could choose the next good news that I would receive it would be news that my mother's home has sold! This past March, while my hubby and I and my parents were planning on selling our homes and moving to another city, my father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. I put both our homes on the market and mine and hubby's sold instantly. Mom's still hasn't sold. I need it to sell so that I can use the money to keep her in the very nice assisted living facility that I found for her. I have been using her savings to pay the monthly bill and it is about to dry up!

It would be that the appointment I'm dreading on December 23rd was canceled and that there was no need to reschedule it. I won't go into it, but I really wish that could happen. I'd consider it awesome news.

Hi eaforeman, Some of the news I'd like to get, is that I'll be able to find a way to keep our house next year. There's a chance that my daughter will be going away to university, and then I may have to sell our home, due to financial reasons. I'd also like to hear, that my dil and family have been able to find a suitable apartment to move into. They really need to get out of where they're living now, for many reasons. Take care.

That my mother's emphysema and congestive heart failure had miraculously disappeared and she was free to leave the hospital and come home. She's so weak and frail right now - it's just not her I'm seeing any more.

I have two actually one is that my husband's surgery goes well on Thursday and that they get all of kidney stones out and he will be fine. The other is that both of my parents find jobs that they like, so I do not have to worry about the finances, and they both will be happy and not stressing out over money all the time. With jobs in short supply it is very difficult for seniors to get jobs these days.

That all the fattening foods that I love, had suddenly traded calorie counts with all the "good for you" foods! ................................"scientists have suddenly discovered that ice cream is a slimming food for women over 40!" That would be good news, ya think?

This may sound like the most selfish answer I could ever give in response to this discussion. I say this because the news that would help me the most indeed is only for me. The best news I could receive at the moment would be that I have been accepted for surgery. As surgery that I have waited over three years for. I have Cerebral Palsy and as such have severe and persistent muscle spasms. I generally do not feel sorry for myself, and choose to have a positive attitude. Even though I have had my share of challenges they have never stopped me in the past. I had previously completed my Developmental Services Worker diploma, and was in the process of completing a degree program in "disability studies" as I am a firm believer that those with disabilities may perhaps be the best to deliver those services to others. That was until life had other plans and threw me down a completely different path. My Cerebral Palsy got much worse (although it is not considered progressive, I am simply a medical mystery), and since then I have been on a waiting list for the pain pump so that it will stop my spasticity and my pain. I want my pain to be gone, not just for me, but so that I can get back out there in the workforce and give back what so many others have already given to me. That was my intention when I started my education and it is still my intention now. However, I'm stuck in a position where I need medical assistance (that is absolutely available) that I can not get due to financial constraints of the hospital. Health Care is supposed to be free in Canada. My point is this, if they gave me my pain pump, I would be able to go back to work and make a greater contribution to my community and society as a whole. Instead, I'm sitting here on government assistance fully when I do not want to be and perhaps would only need partial assistace, and I could be making a difference instead of sitting here at home. So I would like my pain pump, back to your original question, so that I can get on with the plans I made for my life. And start giving back to others the way I've always intended. That is my honest response and I hope that it does not come across as selfish and or superior in the sense that it comes accross as "I can save the world" because that isn't what I mean, I simply want to be able to contribute to my own community in a meaningful way. Have a great holiday and happy Mylotting!
