Does anyone have an LCD TV? What do you think of it? Is it safe around kids?
Our TV is dying, has been for awhile now, and we're buying a new TV. We've actually already purchased our new TV, it will be delivered tomorrow. It's not an LCD, I'm not so sure I like those.
They seem to be all the rage. Best Buy doesn't even sell rear projection anymore. All they have is LCD.
My computer monitors are LCD and I don't see how an LCD TV would be safe around my kids. With the TV we currently have, they have colored on the screen and scratched it up. There's actually a crack in the screen on the side... last summer a fly got in there, lol. The kids have also spilled milk on my current TV, luckily it was only on the speaker part, so the TV still worked fine after that, but I haven't been able to get it 100% clean since, and that milk has been on there for years since the twins were toddlers.
Considering how small my kids still are, I'm thinking an LCD screen wouldn't last very long in my house. So we purchased a rear projection instead.
I'm just wondering if anyone has an LCD TV and if you have small kids in your home. How well does the TV stand up to the kids abuse?

Hello, Katsmeow1213
i think lcd tvs are very cool i have only big one in my front room its a 50in lcd Samsung 5 series 1080p the picture quality is very good i love watching football on it its looks like your there. its also enjoyable to watch on it then the normally old dull looking boring tvs. i think its safe around childrens because if you hang it up on the wall they have no chance of reaching it or damaging it if u have it on a table then its diffrent but its still safe. i think to get the best out of it you should get sky HD to get Hd channels which look 4 times more better then normal. i have a lcd monitor to for my compter that ones Samsung 22inch 3 series. if your worried about kids throwing stuff on it then you should only buy it if you have space on your wall then it will be harder but it will be possible. i have a little sister and because my one is on the wall she hasn't touched it and she coudnt throw anything at it or even damage it. new lcd tv's like samsung have speakers at the back so damaging your speaker is almost impossible.
Hope this gave you a idea.
bye good day!!!
