i have stayed clear for the most part of jokes on here because they always end up getting deleted usually so i figure why bother..
i mean its under tos under donts =
"This is a form of abuse and all recipes and jokes will be deleted if they are started as a discussion"
i know a lot of people complain when their discussions on jokes and recipes are deleted so i dont know if that is because they honestly dont know or what but if anyone has wondered why i dont answer any of them that is why.. and i dont know about you but i dont want to watch my earnings go up then go down as soon as they start deleting them
i think it is confusing to a lot of people because we have jokes and humor as interest so they figure they are allowed..
anyways am i the only one that steers clear and says why bother?? i know some seem quite popular but not for long.. i dont report them i just skip over them..

No I do not respond to "discussions" where it is either a joke or a recipe. In fact I cannot see that these types of things actually constitute a discussion in any way at all. I can remember when I first joined myLot that it was awash with both jokes and recipes as well as those "do you drink pepsi or coke". There wered quite a few members at that time whio used to respond to any and all discussions with a long joke or a series of jokes. The belief then was that the longer the response, the more money the person would make which is why it was happening I suspect.
Then one day they all started to disappear and so did a whole lot of members, who were mostly the ones who were posting the jokes, either as a discussion or a response. I am sure that everyone knows that they will end up being deleted but still some people will continue to post and respond to them. There have been a few times when I have responded to a discussion to sat that the discussion is a violaton of the rules and will be deleted. I make that response knowing that it will be deleted but if it helps someone new then it is okay.

Yes it is good if we can help someone and so often a comment about the discussion being a violation iof the rules might help that new member. However if the same member continued to post those jokes and/or recipes, I would not bother responding a second time.

they are "suppose" to be deleted.. but mylot pretty much relies on people turning them in so if no one reports them they usually stay for awhile but there are report happy people around here so they usually report as soon as they see them.. i dont bother reporting them i just delete the email i got with them and move on.

I don't see the point of responding to something that will be deleted, what I don't understand is why people don't realize every time they post one, it gets deleted.

yeah and then they post "why did it get deleted?" which gets deleted and it just keeps going on and on and gets ridiculous.. i wonder if they all really dont know or just want to see if they can cause a stir and some how mylot not delete it and them get to earn something or something

they don't read the guidelines they think they can just copy stuff from the internet and get paid with no effort of their own put into it and they scram this place is a scam.

See its not whether they get deleted or not..its like i like i do it policy of mine..if i rally like a post that contains jokes i will reply it and i bet the user will be able to see it from his mailbox and he would be quiet happy atleast some people support his humour sense and send him a reply..thats the spirit thats needed and not selfishness, which thinks that the post could be deleted...i'm sorry if i had hurted you...happy mylotting...

I do try and stay clear of all recipes and jokes on this site. I don't report them but I do warn the creator of the discussion that it voilates the guildeines and they shouldn't do it. Most people I have found does not realize it is no no to do that. As this is teh only site I know that doesn't allow it.

I haven't seen one in a long time but when I do see them I stay away from them as well because they get deleted. I feel the same as you do I do not want to see my earnings go up just to go back down again.

I never really noticed them. I usually go in and read them. Have a good laugh and then if it makes me feel like replying to it, I usually will.
That is what confuses me as well. Cos if jokes are not allowed, then why have a category for jokes?
Maybe we can bring this up with the admin and see what they say.

some one said they used to allow them or something.. and i guess people could talk about comedians or joke books there although to me i wouldnt think about that when i read jokes

I suppose the reason jokes aren't allowed to be posted is that they aren't really discussions at all. Every now and then a really interesting joke might be worth discussing, but the average, run of the mill joke recycled on a discussion forum probably isn't going to fall into that category. So, to answer your question, I don't answer them either.

I too give them a miss but I report them.
I feel humourous discussions can be made just the same without actually posting a joke which would give nothing to discuss anyway.

I tend to not reply to them because they do get deleted. Its not the earnings that bug me its just if i take the time to write a reply i HATE that it gets deleted. I think if its a joke that leads into a discussion its ok but..otherwise just a joke no go. I dont report them either.

I do not respond to jokes either. Actually, what kind of response can you have, except that it was funny. If I am curious about the joke, I will just scan to see what it is about, but really most jokes do not warrant a response. I guess the people who posts jokes do not care if they are deleted or they did not read the guidelines. I do not respond to recipes either. I responded to a discussion where someone was asking what everyone had for dinner and that post was deleted.

yeah unless i know the person pretty well i wont reply to jokes.. and if i know them well then they already know its against the rules and dont care if it gets deleted.. but i think i may have like answered 1 joke or so..
im surprised that discussion was deleted compared there are some that are worse that are just like one sentence posted over and over again and it some how flies by.. drives me nuts i keep thinking im losing my mind lol
