At least 3 of my gift purchases came from online sites. And they will be late. Not sure if I will even receive them in time to give them out at Christmas. With the birth of my son, and the holidays, this has just been a hectic time. Plus the healing from the c-section not going as smoothly as I thought.
Do you think the gifts will be received well even if they are late? Is it important to have the gifts under the tree on time, or is it truly the thought that counts?

Oh yes, I think late gifts are fine since it sort of extends the holiday - in a way. I did order my nieces' presents online like the second week of December in anticipation of shipping delays. Lo and behold, they arrived in three days! Definitely too early but they did react like it was Christmas day already.
That was fun. Like, my gifts weren't at all mixed up with tons of presents under the tree and later on you'd stop and think, "Who gave which gift?" So, don't worry about it. It's definitely the thought that counts. :D

I myself ordered a few online that will show up a few days late since they will arrive in 10-15 business days. But atleast they will be here. You can always get a photo of what it is and put in envelope and put in small box and wrap and say this is what your getting..when it gets here..lol With some kids they want their gifts o on time but with others it can be fun to get gifts after Christmas. Shouldn't be a problem they know you just had a baby and that things aren't easy for you right now. Not like you can jump up and go shopping so I am sure they will be patient and it will be fun getting gifts after Christmas.

I am sure anybody you are getting gifts for understands all of the things that have been going on in your life lately and any one of them would understand why some may be coming late. I would not worry about it. Relax and enjoy your new bundle of joy. Plus, if they have a problem getting their gift late it is there problem, not yours.

You can call them epiphany gifts. I would think if the gifts are what is wanted, they will be well received. If they're not what is wanted, it doesn't matter when you give them. Whether you give the gifts at Christmas or days after, the recipients should be grateful that you remembered them and also take into account your situation.

Healing takes time. Consider that both your outside and uterus had to be cut into and both have to heal. Been there, done that and I can certainly feel for you!
Late gifts are better than no gifts at all. I had a tiny bit to spend until yesterday when a tire went flat for its last and final time. Had to be replaced so my car gets the Christmas and we get the coal. LOL

I certainly believe that Christmas doesn't have to be about gifts. In fact, I think the gift-giving part of it can get out of hand.

I guess it depends on who they're for. An adult will understand about a gift being late, but if the gifts are for a child that believes in Santa, well that could cause an issue.
But any adult in your life understands you just had a baby, and should understand if their gift is a little late.

If some of your gifts don't arrive on time explain the situation to the preson it's intended for and I'm sure you won't be killed on the spot.
Things happen and, like you said, it's been a pretty hectic time for you. Besides, getting a gift late is like having Christmas all over again.

I agree with the other posters - put a card in an envelope under the tree saying that their gift will be delayed and they will understand.. nevertheless impatient, for children, at least. They will know that you got them something instead of keeping quiet and making them think you hate them or something, and pout till the gift arrives.

I do believe it is the thought that counts. So what if it is not under the tree. That has happened to me on accassion. What I do is put a card under the tree with the message that their gift is coming but it is not here yet. People have always been very understanding. Christmas is about good will and my friends have always been very happy that they are getting a gift. Even if it is a couple of days late.

You dont have to worry about the gifts being late since even the seller would know how the consumer would be needing it for christmas and he surely would be working over time to send the gifts in time for all of them who have ordered for the gifts and yes it is really important for anyone to receive the gift in time for anyone to enjoy the festive season with joy...anyway happy christmas and happy new year and last but not least happy mylotting...
