My daughter and her family left New York yesterday in a blizzard driving here to Minnesota to spend a week over the holidays....I am patiently waiting but it's hard knowing the road conditions are not good. They were supposed to call sometimes this afternoon but haven't....but my younger daughter in Arizona had emailed me to tell me they were by Chicago! I am so excited yet concerned. Do you have anyone that you are waiting for....to come home for Christmas?

No, we aren't having anyone come from too far of a distance but I don't blame you for being concerned. I am sure they are being as careful as possible!

I sure know the feeling. Hope all is well and they got to Minnesota just fine. Our youngest daughter and her family left the other day for Colorado. They drove 14 hours but don't think had any nasty weather. They were lucky! Next they are going to New Mexico, back to Arizona and then moving to New Mexico. Lots on the highways and that really concerns me. Our kids came in for Thanksgiving, we flew them in, so this old g-ma didn't worry about their travel. So we are not actually waiting for anyone to come home this year.

I hope they get there safe and sound. It is always hard not to worry. My sister and brother-in-law will be driving about three hours on Christmas Eve to get here, and I already know my mom will be worrying. It is supposed to to sleet and then freeze. But I guess that is part of a mom's job. : ) To worry.

I am 2 weeks late on this one. Well, our daughter and her b.f. drove in from Atlanta and arrived on the 26th. Also, one of my sisters and her husband, they live in TN, also arrived on the 26th.
I don't blame you for being concerned, given the weather your daughter no doubt had to travel through. I understand it's been pretty bad the last few weeks up north and out east.
I saw one of your other mylot discussions so I know your daughter arrived safely, which is great.

Oh Jill, How exciting for you but yes it is horrible waiting. I will have both girls home Christmas Eve so we are all together Christmas morning. You have a wonderful time with you daughter and her family. It is probably one of the busiest weekends of the year for travelling the world over so allow traffic time.
Huggles. Ellie :D

I was wondering about you and thinking about you. As your in Albert Lee and the storm is everywhere. I hope they call you soon. As it is moving there way. The airport is only running half and the roads they can bairly keep up with here in Minneapolis. I had to go out to get gas for snowblower or else I would of stayed home as well, and it was pretty bad out. Let me know if they make it. I'm saying a prayer for them and you. Your friend onlydia

I'm hoping by the time you read this response that your children are home, safe and sound, and you're just having a wonderful time!
No I don't have anyone coming home for the holidays, they all live just a few minutes away, Thank Goodness. I'd be a nervous wreck too.
Funny how we still worry constantly about them even though they're all grown up. Mother's love can't be beat. Take care and like I mentioned, I hope they're home and all is well. Merry Christmas.

My son and his wife are coming on Christmas day, we found this out after deciding that instead of cooking we will be going out to eat.. Now I have to make new plans, I may cook a little bit and still go out and eat.. We have friends who are not going the cooking route this year and we are supposed to go out with them so I am not sure what we are going to do now.. I hope yours have a safe trip and that all of you have a great Christmas, Merry Christmas..

Yes, my son and his family, but they are just an hour away. I know how it feels to be waiting anxiously, you'll get by I'm sure. As for us here in this corner of the globe, we still have the hot, scorching sun stubbornly shining on us, even when we wish it "off". But I should not be complaining. I hope some of the sun's rays fall on your part of the world too. Happy holidays.

Oh yes, I am so excited as my daughter will be home for Christmas. She is living in N.C. and is due in on Monday. I am praying that there are no delays. My DIL came in 2 weeks ago from Dubai and my youngest son is due in from the U.K. but he is not expected until January 3. At least he will spend one day with his sister before she returns to N.C.They haven't seen each other for a year so even one day is joyous as they are close. Then when Rachel and my DIL leave, I still have my youngest son staying with me for a few more weeks.
I've just said a little prayer that they all each safely. We just can't help worrying can we? Blessings
