Should there be some quality control for discussions?

Hello, what do you people think of this suggestion? Are you all happy with the kind of discussions that are started here? Or would you like to have some guidelines for these discussions? some really interesting discussions are ignored by the members and some downright silly discussions get pages of response- but again it is left to the members to choose what they would like to respond to. what are your views about this?

MyLot already has several guidelines which get ignored pretty much every minute. It is a bit frustrating to see new members post same questions one after another in order to get answers. But I don't consider that a big deal-after all,I don't have to respond to the ones I don't like! Besides,we all have been new and I've broken a few rules without knowing so I'm more or less tolerant as long as nobody gets hurt. As to silly discussions getting pages of responses-that's quite personal and obviously most people prefer to give an easy answer than sit down and reflect for a while. Guilty myself:) It is sad when good discussions get ignored but there's not much we can do,you can't force people like something they don't relate to.

Thanks AnakSunamun for your reply.you pretty much covered it all! It is definitely not in our hand to control the taste of the members or their response pattern, it can only be done by some other mechanisms put in place ..

Your discussion has come at the right time I am searching for quality discussions.Well there is definitely a dearth for quality discussions here. Most od the time I just get tired and log off.I don't know if any system brings in more quality I would be very happy.

Thank god there is someone who feels the way i do. I am not trying to belittle anyone or any discussion. It is just that some discussions are downright silly and they are the ones that get the maximum number of responses, whereas the really good ones are completely overlooked. If we had different categories and topics of discussions probably it would cater to all tastes- strictly my opinion

Dear Friend I think that mylot already has guidelines for raising and responding discussion . I think it depends more on mylot members to choose which discussion they like to respond to . I think mylot must be having some way doing all this . Happy Mylotting Take Care Ganesh
