I normally use dryer sheets when drying my clothes. I prefer liquid fabric softner, but it just seem like dryer sheets are more handy. I think the liquid gives your clothing a more "fresh" smell to them. Which do you use, dryer sheets or liquid fabric softner?

I used to not use fabric softener. Now I use it all the time. I think I like Snuggles and Purex the best. I'm currently using Purex liquid fabric softener. Liquid seems to be better because the smell lasts longer and it smells fresher. My parents like to use dyer sheets because it's easier. However some people don't like fabric softener, and some clothes require not to use fabric softener (especially baby clothes or "non" wrinkle clothes). So sometimes we have to make small loads with items that aren't allowed fabric softener.

I really do not use either. If I have access to dryer sheets then I will use them but otherwise I don't worry about them. I don't see the benefits of really using them. I kind of feel like it's just more money that I'd have to spend when it's something that really isn't necessary.

We use both in this house. Liquid for blankets as most of the time they are too big to dry in the dryer and sheets for clothing.

I use liquid fabric softener. I agree with you, I think the clothes smell fresher. I also think that the scent remain on the clothing well after it is washed.I guess it is a matter of personal preference and finding a brand and company that you like.

Hi singlemommy,
I use neither. Prefer dryer balls to avoid getting residue and more on my clothes.
Good thing you started this topic, because I've got a tidbit to share about liquid softeners. A news item on TV several years ago showed these to be flammable. So, try to avoid getting close to a flame source if you're wearing something that's been softened by the liquid kind.

I normally used liquid fabric softener. I do have the regular dryer sheets that I can use if I need to. Although, I like the liquid because it seems like the clothes smell better.

I like the way the liquid fabric softner makes the clothes smell really good too. but unfortunately our laundry room is outside under the carport and its hard to keep up with the washer and when the rinse cycle starts, so I use the fabric softner sheets because its easy.

I use liquid for bedding and towels because it seems to make them so much softer. For everything else I use the sheets... Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the liquid costs more in the long run. (or maybe it's because I can only use Downy as I'm allergic to everything else?)

I use the liquid kind. For some reason I never feel like the dryer sheets work. The liquid is far more effective and better smelling definitely.

I was using sheets for the sake of my clothes, but now I'm not putting anything at all! Results: No difference I guess!

I do not use dryer sneets nor liquid fabric softener. The last time I used the later, I got such a rash down below that I had to go to the doctor and get a prescription. I had stopped using dryer sheets long ago since I did not want to be forever filling up the trash. I use vinegar. Now my sons finished cleaning out basement and found some old no name dryer sheets, so I decided to try for a couple of loads.
Big mistake, I was allergic to them as well, so I went back to the vinegar in the rinse water.

I use dryer sheets right now. I used them both and tend to go through phases about this. I like them both for different reasons. I use dry sheets for many other things around the house so I like to have them on hand most of the time.

I have never used liquid fabric softener so I have nothing to compare it to. I, obviously, use dryer sheets over them. I love the way the smell and make my clothes smell. Our dryer vent is right next to our front door too so I often open the door when the dryer is running. It makes the whole house smell great, just like the dryer sheets.

I personally use the liquid, I just don't think that the dryer sheets give my clothes enough of a smell. I like my clothes to smell clean and whenever I have used the sheets, I just don't seem to get that. I also find that it is cheaper to buy to liquid one and it lasts a little longer too.

I love the smell of fabric softener
I do not however use the liquid in my washer my hubby is an appliance repairman and sells them as well that stuff is terrible on your washer. I use a laundry scoop of white vinegar for a fresh smell yes it smells fresh in the fabric softener dispenser on my washer. then i use the snuggle green box or bounce with fa breeze in my dryer in the winter and then if the weather is nice i hang clothes out in the summer makes them last longer and it sure is cheaper since we have so much laundry
