Before you overclock your PC you should know the risks you are taking, The manual on the motherboard should be read . The first question that you should ask is whether you really need to overclock or not. Nowadays it is easy to overclock a PC. All we need to do is go to the BIOS setup while the PC is booting. If the motherboard supports overclocking then there is a menu where we can choose the rate of increase. With earlier motherboards we have to manually calculate and change the clock speed. Even older motherboards require the use of jumpers. The process does not simply stop there. You have to ascertain that the cooling system is capable of extracting the excess heat generated. Otherwise you might face a CPU meltdown. all the best, rosdimy

Over clocking should never be done. Manufacturers set specific clock speeds for a processor because the processor cannot handle more than that. By over clocking, you may get a performance increase but you are making the processor's life shorter. Because, by overclocking, the temperature generated by the processor is increased. Most people who don't understand the basics just go and increase the frequency and forget about the temperature. Actually, if you overclock, you will have to have a more powerful heat sink. I would say, never overclock your processor....

overclocking failure usually pass the following phenomena:blue screen, illegal operation, operator error, close the window for no reason, CPU occupancy rate is too high, no response procedures, freeze-frame images, black ,automatic restart, and so can not boot. so make sure you really want to overclock?
