Well the wife and I had a GREAT time at the casino seeing Cirque DuSoliel Jungle Dremas show. Unfortunately as this photo on the big screen video screens shows there was no photography allowed AT all of any type nor sound or video recording allowed. As the show started the Emcee spoke stating no photogra[phy or recordning of any type is allowed. Then a few cast members dressed as frog hopped across the stage saying, "Prohibited" Like a frogs sound of ribbit. Too cute actually. So when this happens at a concert/show you attend do you take photos anyhow hoping not to get caught? HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Such a shame that they would not allow still photos. I have never been anywhere that says you can't take photos. I have been where you can not take any video camera's or tape recorders. If I was in a place that did not allow any type of pictures taken even the still photos no I would not take the chance.

Cuirtain Call - Very awful photo but....
Well I did get some shots although they are not very good as I did have to sneak them. Here's a shot of the closing where the performers came on stage for their curtain calls and bows etc. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I was not surprised when you said you took some pictures. hahaha The cast of performers was not as large as I thought it would be, but as the saying goes, it's not the quantity but the quality.

Oh it was a large cast. They came out in differnt parts as to how the shows acts went actually. I'd guess there were about 25 to 30 performers all together. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It's been a long, long time since I've been to any kind of performance, but photographing or recording any type of show has always been prohibited...I think it's due to the idea that it might be distracting to performers if someone photographs and a flash goes off....of course, as I learned one doesn't need to use flash for stage shows...there's enough light to photograph by.

I know a lot of casinos don't like for you to use photography inside of the gambling areas for privacy of the people who are gambling. But I wasn't aware that they wouldn't at least let you use photography during the shows that they produce. That's pretty surprising. I am one of those people who try to abide by most rules, so no, I wouldn't be sneaking and trying to take pictures. Mainly for fear that I would get caught. :) I guess I'm just a little chicken. LOL Hope you're doing well this holiday season. Take care!

Whenever I go to a show or in a place where photography is not allowed, I make sure that I would abide by that rule, I am so afraid of being caught doing that and it would be a shame if someone knew me at that moment... so I guess, its better to follow rules than to have a shame in all my life... :)

Good question I wouldn't. They are really getting strict about things like that. But if was a risk taker than you should of went for it.

NO I do not take photos when I am asked not to. I obey the rules I know it is for the safety of the performers. It sounds like you and wife had a good time. I would love to see Cirque DuSoliel and the blue man group also.

hi grandpa.. well to me.. no photos allowed means no photos will be taken.. i believe they've got a good reason for not allowing us to take photos.. i wont take the risk of having my 'devices' confiscated and maybe damaged.

Its so easy now to take pictures with camera phones without anyone knowing what you are doing. A lot of the time, when they don't want people taking any kind of photos it's because they are selling professional ones somewhere else. Either after the show or online or somewhere and they don't want you taking away from their profits. I've actually never been to any show that didn't allow any photos. I've been to lots of shows that didn't allow flash photography but that's more for your neighbors than anything else because your flash distracts from their enjoyment of the show. I've taken videos with my phone at a concert where video cameras weren't allowed but the sound quality was so bad no one could tell what it was. And then when I tried to put it on my computer to see if the sound would be better here, I couldn't even play it so it was a waste of battery and memory anyway.

I have had this happen at museums before as well. I do not think that it is right for them to not allow others to take pictures. I do see it from their perspective that they do not want the work to be all over the internet. I use pictures as mementos, as I suppose that many do. I want to be able to go to my scrapbook in a few years and still remember the event like it happened yesterday. I hope that this is only a few isolated situation, and that many more places will not restrict the use of cameras.
